Nice gym, friendly trainers and great atmosphere, very spacious .. The classes are quite repetitive though, it feels a bit like a cardio session, if you want to improve skills you are better off getting private lessons 1:1 with one of the coaches.

My friend and I booked a private lesson for 2 people. Our coach was a professional Muay Thai instructor. He was so good at it. We had an excellent experience. The guys that work there are super friendly. Love that place. I will come back here for sure on my next trip in Koh Samui.

Was there for 2 weeks june/july 2025. Great gym has 3 rings. Fully matted area, weights area, good selection of punch bags. All the Coaches have a great wealth of experience and are very patient also very encouraging with great banter. Stayed on site, the rooms where good, decent size bed and wadrobe, tv kettle fridge. Really good air çon, toilet and shower.Roll out of bed 10 steps to the gym. They have a very efficiant laundary service.Onsite Shop sells some great quality Muay thai equipment at really good prices.Across the road is the Hub a really good place to eat before or after training. 10 mins walk from a Fantastic beach. Lamai Muay Thai is a great gym with skilled, respectful and experienced trainers. The group classes are especially good for beginners who’ve never trained Muay Thai before. You get clear feedback, help with techniques, and the trainers are always supportive, no matter your level. For professional fighters, it might feel a bit too basic or less progress, but still a solid place for a good workoutOne of the best parts is the international atmosphere. Tourists and fighters from all over the world. You always train with different partners, which helps with learning and keeps it interesting. The morning class from 7–9 AM is perfect: cooler weather, fewer people, and an energetic start to the day.Every session begins with the trainers helping you wrap your hands. At the end, there are always a few rounds of light sparring with rotating partners. Great for applying what you learned. There could be more bag work and variety in the group class structure, as some routines repeat daily. But overall, it’s a great experience. If you don’t have your own equipment, they provide free boxing gloves, shin and knee guards. The gym also has a own shop where you can buy your own Muay Thai gear you need.Keep in mind that you’re on Koh Samui — a tourist island. Many people don’t approach the training professionally, but rather as a cultural experience to see how real Muay Thai is trained. If you’re seriously planning to go pro and fight, you’ll need a different approach: private sessions or training somewhere else in Thailand where almost no tourists are.Highly recommended for anyone visiting Koh Samui and interested in Muay Thai training!

Trained at Lamai Muay Thai for 2 weeks with our home gym, very friendly and welcoming gym. Trainers were excellent, they take the time to help you gain a better understanding. Done both the group and 1 on 1 sessions. Ralph (the owner) is helpful in every way, nothing is too much, loads of respect for the gym ♥️

I was really looking forward to my PT session but was very disappointed. My trainer was 10 min late, one of the British fighter kindly helped me to locate him. The session was ok but I couldn’t really understand his instructions and it was short. I didn’t feel like I worked out at all.The gym seems very popular with all ages and seems like a good, friendly and inclusive gym but this left a sour taste for me so won’t be going back.Be prepared for smell, sweat. Definitely for the hard core 😂

1 of the best Fighter Gym in Thailand so far. I stayed this camp for 3 years and had 16 fights under WMC Lamai Muaythai name. I tried many many gyms in all over Thailand and not even 1 of them is not close to training vibes in Lamai Muaythai. Boss Ralph all day there for any problem you people have. Big part of my life, thank you for any moment i had here.

This was unfortunately one of my worst gym experiences in Thailand so far. I have years of experience from training and fighting and have previously lived in Chiang Mai.This is a repost of this review since I was told that I could get arrested if I said anything ”bad” about a Thai company even if it’s the truth.Anyways this is my experience. In sparring there was a guy that swept my leg so hard (in play sparring) I got a serious ACL knee injury which has been confirmed (the owner questioned the seriousness of my injury as well). When the injury happened I didn’t feel like the staff took it serious enough or asked me if I needed any help to get to the hospital. My boyfriend found me outside crying by myself when he got there. Also when I was at the reception cause I had to leave the girl in the reception saw me crying and laughed and didn’t ask how I was or anything. When it comes to the actual training it’s the same workout everyday which consists of warmup for 20+ min then partnered drills and sparring for almost the whole class and then only two short rounds of pad work. In general there was no feedback or attention to detail.I will not recommend this place. Mostly because of the lack of servicemindedness and for basically trying to talk me in to removing my honest review.

Been coming to Lamai Muay Thai to train for many years, it has increasingly become the place to train in Samui for real fighters including champions like J Haggerty and many more, some of the best trainers in the game, accomplished actors and also just people beginning to learn, it is a real fighters gym with massive accomplishments run by the best.

The most cringe-worthy gym, which is suitable for a maximum of a week for beginners, even if you spend 1 year there - you will spar only using touches to the stomach, if you want to go to the bag - they will not let you do this - because you came to training and thus a year has passed and nothing has changed.

Horrible gym, because they don't care about the trainees. They just show basic exercises for beginners, sparring is all just markings on the stomach and nothing more. In any gym in my country the most beginner trains much harder than here. They never talk to the trainees, it's their unspoken rule, you can notice it almost immediately. Wasted my time and money. Cringe gym, nothing to do there.
